Shirley Temple Black

American singer, dancer, businesswoman, and diplomat.

Shirley’s film career started at 3yrs until she retired at 22 yrs. She starred in 29 films between the ages of 3-10 and was the number one box office as a child from 1935-38. Shirley also had a radio show in 1942 followed by a very successful TV series called Shirley Temple Storybook from 1958-61. Shirley became involved in politics and the Republican Party and ran for congress in 1967. She lost, however later she was appointed to the UN General Assembly by Nixon; served as US ambassador to Ghana, 1974-6 for Ford; and as US ambassador to Czechoslovakia from 1989-92 for G.H.W. Bush.
