American architect, designer, and artist.

Maya is best known for her sensitive Vietnam Veterans Memorial, designed when she was an undergraduate at Yale. She’s designed memorials, buildings, landscapes, and sculptures. Most of her work focuses on the environment. Lin draws information and inspiration from nature. Her work tries to interface with the existing site conditions to create structures that have a relationship to nature but that do not overpower it. Maya is an environmental activist who seeks to educate the public about the various hazards of global warming in much of the work she creates. Lin received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from Obama.
