American professional tennis player and former world # 1 singles player (in the years 2002-2017).

Serena has won 23 grand slam singles titles and 14 grand slam doubles titles (with her sister Venus). Williams has won the most prize money in tennis of all time. Serena’s career has been interrupted by injury several times, but due to her training and very powerful game she has risen to the top again and again. Williams has become an icon for a new generation of women and has used social media to further social change, supporting Black Lives Matter, gender equality, and the LGBTQ community.
