Art Show

WHAT

We gathered a group of female artists to create 48 portraits of instrumental American women who have helped this country move forward politically, socially, and culturally to celebrate the centennial of the ratification of the 19th Amendment of the Constitution - allowing all women to vote.

Visit the Art Work pages to view the different portraits of the women featured, and click on any of them to read a short biography of what they have accomplished.

All artwork is available for sale and benefits getting out the vote.

WHY

In 2020 (August 18), we celebrated the centennial of the ratification of the 19th Amendment, which gave all women the right to vote in the US. Voting is important for all of us...all genders, all colors, all creeds. Voting is how we can make sweeping changes in this country. Your vote is your voice, and we hope to raise funds to get out the vote. What better way to celebrate the centennial of the women’s vote than to create a show dedicated to women who have contributed to society.

If a particular piece of artwork speaks to you and you are able, we encourage you to click on the page “Purchase Art.” There you can purchase an archival print of any of the works, or any of the originals that have not been sold.

If you want to support our efforts without purchasing art, click the “Donate” button at the top of the page, which will take you to a direct donation page.

All profits of the online sale will be donated to getting out the vote.

WHO

A curated group of female artists were asked to choose one American woman who resonated with them, and then create a 12” x 12” portrait of her. Each portrait is in the artist’s own style, which makes this a very dynamic show. The American women portrayed have moved the dialogue forward and have made an impact on our world. We have prepared a concise informational statement of each featured woman in the hopes that you, as the viewer, will be curious to learn more about each one. We know our list is not complete, and perhaps is a little California-centric, but we hope you enjoy the superb art you see here.
